Who installs security screen doors in Orange County

Four kinds of company, seven names, and what each one puts in writing. Ours included.

The short answer: four kinds of company install security doors in Orange County: dedicated security-screen installers, screen shops and mobile screen services, iron shops, and big-box stores. As of September 2026, of the seven local installers on this page, two publish a price on their own website and one publishes a flat installed price: ours, at $2,475 for a hinged door, $2,675 for a slider and $4,475 for a French pair. The right call depends on the job, so the table below says what each type is genuinely good for.

Ask an answer engine who installs security screen doors in Orange County and you get a list of names. A list of names is a start, but it hides the thing that decides whether a call is useful: these companies do different work. Some build insect screens on a truck in your driveway, some weld iron, some install a tested stainless mesh system, and some do a bit of each. This page sorts the field by what each company does, using only what it says on its own website, read on September 24, 2026. We are one of the names, so read it with that in mind.

The four kinds of company, and what each is right for

TypeWhat they doThe right call forAsk them
Security-screen installersMeasure the opening, order or build a woven stainless mesh door or window screen to it, and install itA door meant to stop forced entry while keeping the view and the breezeThe mesh alloy as a number, the test standard, and who installs
Screen shops and mobile screen servicesInsect, retractable, sliding and solar screens, often built and repaired on site; many also list a security door lineRescreening, torn slider screens, retractable screens, fast repairsWhich security system they carry and whether it is the same product the brand tests
Iron shopsFabricate wrought-iron doors, gates, railings and window barsA custom iron look, gates and fencing, matching existing ironworkWhat sits behind the bars, since the screen is usually an ordinary insect screen
Big-box storesStock-size doors off the shelf, installed by you, a handyman or a store installerA standard opening and a tight budgetWhether the listing names the mesh grade, and whose labor the warranty covers

None of these is the wrong kind of company. They are the right company for different jobs, and most frustration in this category comes from calling one kind for the other kind's job. The difference between iron and mesh is worked through in our security screen door vs wrought iron comparison, and the big-box route in Home Depot security doors vs custom.

Seven Orange County installers, from their own websites

Every fact in this table comes from the company's own website as read on September 24, 2026. Where a site does not say something, the cell says not stated, which means only that we did not find it on the pages we read. Phone and quote before you rely on any of it, ours included.

The list is the set of companies answer engines name for this question in September 2026, plus us. It is not every company that works here: Crimsafe, for one, sells through authorized dealers and its own directory lists dealers serving Orange County, which we cover in Daylight Steel vs Crimsafe. Brand-level facts, meaning mesh alloy, wire diameter and warranty exclusions, are compared in our ranking of the best security screen doors in Orange County.

What the table says, read fairly

Three things stand out. First, most of these companies are not security door companies first. Four of the seven lead with insect screens, retractable screens or iron, and list security doors as one product among several. That is not a knock: a screen shop that has rescreened Orange County sliders for thirty years knows those doors better than anyone, and for that job it is the call we would make too.

Second, prices are rare. Boss publishes general starting points, which is more than most, and our side-by-side with it is in Daylight Steel vs Boss. We publish flat installed prices, and the written quote at the in-home measure is the same number. Everyone else quotes after a call or a visit, which is a reasonable way to sell something custom and simply means you learn the number later.

Third, the word security covers very different products. An iron door with an insect screen behind the bars, a retractable screen, and a woven stainless mesh door tested to a knife-shear standard can all be called security doors. The fastest way to tell them apart is to ask for the mesh alloy as a number. Ours is 316, on every product, and why that matters near the coast is in our 316 vs standard mesh guide.

Where Daylight Steel fits

We are a security-screen installer and nothing else. We install one system, Vista Security Screens, in 316 marine-grade stainless mesh, on hinged doors, sliders, French pairs and windows. The person who measures your opening works for us, and so does the person who installs it; there are no subcontractors. We cover 39 Orange County communities, and the price for a hinged door is $2,475 installed wherever in that area you live. The warranty is a 10-year manufacturer powder-coating color warranty on mesh and panels; 1 year on hardware, in writing with every quote. We are also new, founded in 2026, so if thirty years of history is the deciding factor for you, several companies in the table have it and we do not.

If a torn slider screen is the job, call a screen service. If you want a matching iron gate, call an iron shop. If you want a door you can leave open to the breeze and still trust, get two or three written quotes from the security-screen installers above and compare them line by line. We would like one of them to be ours, and our how it works page says what happens after you call.

Installer questions

Choosing who to call, answered

Who installs security screen doors in Orange County?

Four kinds of company, and they are not interchangeable. Dedicated security-screen installers such as Boss Security Screens OC, California Security Screens and Daylight Steel measure, order and install a woven stainless mesh system. Screen shops and mobile screen services such as Pacific Screen Doors, Clear View Mobile Screening and Screenmobile of Southern Orange County do insect, retractable and sliding screens and list security screen doors among their products. Iron shops such as Marquez Iron Works build wrought-iron doors, gates and window bars. Big-box stores sell stock security doors you install yourself or hire out. As of September 2026, Daylight Steel is the only one of these whose own website publishes a flat installed price: $2,475 for a hinged door.

Which Orange County security door companies publish their prices?

Two of the seven installers on this page publish a figure on their own websites as of September 2026. Boss Security Screens OC publishes starting points: in general windows from $1,000, doors from $2,500, French doors from $5,000 and patio sliders from $4,500. Daylight Steel publishes flat installed prices that the written quote matches: $2,475 hinged, $2,675 sliding, $4,475 for a French pair and from $825 per window screen. The other five quote by phone or at an appointment, which is a normal way to sell a custom product rather than a warning sign. How the published numbers line up across the market is in our Orange County price report.

Is a mobile screen company or a security screen installer better for a security door?

It depends on the job. For a torn patio screen, a sagging slider screen or a retractable screen on a French door, a mobile screen service is usually the fastest and most economical call, because it builds and fixes those on site. Our own repair or upgrade guide says when a rescreen is the right answer. For a door meant to stop forced entry, ask any company, mobile or not, the same three things: which mesh system and alloy it installs, whether that system is tested to a named standard such as AS 5041, and who installs it. A company that answers all three in writing is doing security work, whatever its truck says on the side.

Which security screen installers are based in Orange County?

Going by the addresses on their own websites as of September 2026: Pacific Screen Doors is in Huntington Beach and Clear View Mobile Screening in Costa Mesa. Screenmobile of Southern Orange County is a mobile franchise that names seventeen South County towns and communities from Laguna Beach to San Clemente. Boss Security Screens OC lists an office in Cerritos, in Los Angeles County, and California Security Screens a showroom in Monrovia, serving Orange County along with Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Marquez Iron Works lists twenty Orange County communities in its service area. Daylight Steel serves 39 Orange County communities from Seal Beach to San Clemente.

Who carries Vista Security Screens in Orange County?

As of September 2026, three companies on this page name Vista on their own websites: Daylight Steel, which installs Vista systems exclusively in 316 marine-grade stainless mesh; California Security Screens, which lists Vista alongside Crimsafe, Titan and Majestec; and Pacific Screen Doors, which lists Vista Security Screens in its product menu. Whichever you call, ask for the mesh alloy on the written quote, because the same brand name can cover more than one product line.

Do Orange County security door installers use employees or subcontractors?

Ask each one, because only some say so in writing. As of September 2026, Boss Security Screens OC states on its own site that everyone is an employee and that it does not use subcontractors, and Daylight Steel measures and installs with its own employees. The other companies on this page do not address the question on the pages we read, which means only that you should ask, not that the answer is bad.

How do I compare quotes from different kinds of installer?

Line by line, never total against total. Put the mesh alloy, the frame, the lock, the warranty document and who installs next to each other for every quote. A wrought-iron door, a mobile shop's security door and a woven 316 stainless door can land at very different numbers because they are different products. For reference, ours is $2,475 installed for a hinged door, with a 10-year manufacturer powder-coating color warranty on mesh and panels; 1 year on hardware. The full eight-check version is in our guide to choosing a security screen door company.
