Who we are

Daylight Steel ("we," "us") measures and installs security screen doors and window screens in Orange County, California. This policy covers daylightsteel.com and the ways we communicate with you about quotes and installations. Questions any time: hello@daylightsteel.com or (657) 695-2454.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect what you provide: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, details about your openings (measurements, door type, notes), and any photos you choose to upload. That's the point of the form - it's how we prepare your quote.

Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, we use analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the site is used - pages visited, approximate location, device type, and similar usage data collected via cookies. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs. None of this identifies you by name.

How we use it

• To prepare your quote and schedule your free in-home measure
• To confirm appointments and answer your questions by call, text, or email
• To fabricate and install what you ordered, and honor warranty service
• To understand how the website is used and improve it

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business - form processing and website hosting, our customer-management and scheduling system, and analytics - and only so they can do that work for us, or if the law requires it.

Calls and texts

When you submit a quote request with your phone number, you agree that we may call or text that number about your quote, your measure appointment, and your installation. That's conversational scheduling, not a marketing list - we don't send promotional text campaigns without your separate consent. Message frequency varies with your project; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help, and we'll still reach you by email if we owe you a quote.

You can also start a text conversation with us from the chat widget on this site. Either way, no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.

Cookies and analytics choices

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The site works fine either way. Our site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no settled standard for them - we simply collect as little as the job needs.

Keeping and protecting your information

We keep quote and customer records as long as we need them to serve you - including the 10-year manufacturer warranty period on installed work - and then delete or anonymize them. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with reputable providers. No system is perfect, but we treat your contact details the way we'd want ours treated.

Your choices

Email hello@daylightsteel.com to ask what we have about you, correct it, or delete it, and we'll act on the request unless we're required to keep something (for example, records of a completed installation under warranty). California residents: we don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in California privacy law, so there is nothing to opt out of - but the access and deletion requests above are always available to you.

Children

Our site and services are for homeowners and renters, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date. Material changes get a plain-language note at the top, not buried edits.
