Made for Lake Forest
Doors that fit how Lake Forest lives
The eucalyptus groves that gave Lake Forest its name were planted more than a century ago, and today they shade a distinctly south Orange County kind of life: family neighborhoods arranged around two lakes, trails climbing into Whiting Ranch, cul-de-sacs where evenings unfold outside until the light goes. Houses here - from the original lake-adjacent tracts to the newer hillside communities - are organized around their patios and yards, with sliders doing most of the daily work. A Daylight Steel security screen door is built for exactly that traffic pattern.
Put one on the front entry and one on the slider, and the house opens into a breezeway on warm afternoons: air moving through, a clear view of the trampoline and the street, insects stopped at the threshold, and every door locked while it stands open. The mesh is 316 marine-grade stainless - overqualified for the job in the best way - and the frame is slim, finish-matched, and quiet about what it does. From the sidewalk it is a good-looking screen door; that is the whole visual story. Our own installers measure each opening and handle the fit, whether the house dates to the 1970s originals or last decade's builds. South county living is outdoor living. Keep the door open to it.

They had great communication, transparent pricing and did a perfect job installing. Just awesome. The door looks amazing too. Thank you.”

Asked in Lake Forest
Our slider gets opened fifty times a day - can a security screen keep up?
That is the duty cycle we design for. Sliding security screens ride on heavy-duty rollers built for constant use, and the 316 stainless mesh shrugs off the paw-prints, hip-checks, and backpack strikes that destroy ordinary screens. Families are usually surprised that the screen door becomes the most-used and least-fussy door in the house.
Do the doors work with the stucco-and-trim look common in Lake Forest neighborhoods?
Well. The frames are slim and come in finishes that pair naturally with south county stucco palettes and trim colors, so the door reads as part of the original design rather than an add-on. If your community has architectural guidelines, the understated profile tends to make approvals straightforward, and we can provide specifications if needed.
How is your pricing structured for Lake Forest homes?
A hinged security screen door installed in Lake Forest is $2,475; a sliding door is $2,675, a French pair $4,475, and security window screens start at $825 (up to 8 sq ft of glass, then $100 per additional sq ft). It is published openly on our website - one flat installed price per product, hinged or sliding, and the numbers online are the real numbers. Our installer's measuring visit produces a final quote consistent with what you already read, not a surprise.
Can we leave doors open in the evening without inviting in the bugs from the greenbelts?
Yes - that is precisely the job. Lake Forest's trees and open space mean plenty of insect life at dusk, and the 316 stainless weave stops all of it, down to the smallest gnat, while the evening air keeps flowing. The door locks while it does this, so open-door evenings require no second thought at all.
Who is Daylight Steel?
An Orange County security screen company founded in 2026. Every door and window screen we install is a Vista Security Screens system in 316 marine-grade stainless mesh, measured and installed by our own employees rather than subcontractors, at one flat installed price per product that is published on our website before you ever talk to us.
How can I check out a security door company before booking a visit?
Four checks, all free: read the company's Google reviews and confirm the profile is verified, get a real installed price in writing before anyone visits, confirm whether employees or subcontractors do the install, and get the warranty terms on paper. Our own answers: our Google Business Profile is verified and carries our first customer reviews, and the other three checks you can run right now from this page. The full checklist is in our guide to choosing a security screen door company.
Why hire a company that was founded in 2026?
Judge the checkable facts rather than the founding date. The system we install has been manufactured under three names since it arrived from Australia, our prices are published before the sales visit and the written quote at your measure matches them, the product warranty is the manufacturer's rather than ours, and the $25 booking fee that schedules the measure is credited in full to your order. A new company cannot fake any of those; an established one is not excused from them.
What happens to my warranty if the company goes out of business?
Ours is not ours to lose: the 10-year manufacturer powder-coating color warranty on mesh and panels; 1 year on hardware sits with the manufacturer of the system, and the written terms come with every quote. A warranty written by an installer is only as durable as the installer, which makes this a fair question to put to every company you compare, including us.
